50 Miles of Art – Spring Studio and Gallery Tour March 25 & 26, 2017

The Spring 50 Miles of Art Studio and Gallery Tour is generally the last full weekend in March and is hosted by the artists in Clarksville, Louisiana and Hannibal. Our three artist communities are all located in historic river towns connected by a 50 mile stretch of scenic highway 79 – hence the name 50 Miles of Art. . Our 2017 spring event is being held on March 25 & 26.  A map of participating artists’ locations is below.

Clarksville  Participating Artists Spring 2017–

Bee Naturals – Barb Chappuis, 103 North First Street (573) 242-3475 – Handmade lotions, creams, soaps, essential oils and fragrant products for the home.  Skin care demonstrations throughout the weekend. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

B.T. Dove Antiques – Bill Blakey, 120 Howard Street (314) 799-1608 – Framed paintings, prints and hand painted ornaments. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Clarksville Library – Christopher Bove, 401 South Second Street – (573) 321-9121 – Prints and a digital display of Clarksville. Images will be for sale. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Great River Road Pottery and Wood Shop – Bud and Erin Garrison, 107 South First Street (573) 242-3000 – Functional stoneware pottery, flower pots, birdfeeders and birdhouses. Custom made cottage and garden furniture, specializing in milk paint finishes.  Wooden bowls.  Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

MaryO Art Church & Gallery – Mary Ostertag, 101 S. Third Street (Corner of Third and Howard) – (314) 606-2014 – Original paintings and one of a kind pendants. Saturday 9 a.m. -5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Please add as #9 to your Clarksville map.

M & M Greenwell Fine Furniture Makers – Mike and Margie Greenwell, 110 South Second Street (573) 242-3771 – Master cabinetmakers, designing and making furniture for three generations. Custom furniture, lathe work, mouldings and millwork, antique repair and replacement parts, carving and repair carving. Carving or burning demonstrations. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Pickerville Marketplace – Mike Brewer, 108 Howard Street (217) 883-0570 –Iron work from Brewer’s Forge. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 12- 5 p.m.

Simpatico, an Art Gallery Co-op – Lori Purk, 105 C South First Street (573) 242-3725 – A selection of work from award-winning Missouri artists; lampworked, fused leaded and stained glass, pottery, silks and woven wearable art, nature photography, jewelry, wire, rustic furnishings, accents and baskets. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Windsor Chair Shop – Ralph and Caron Quick, P.J. Blankey, 114 Howard Street (573) 241-8237/ (573) 241-7136 – Handmade 18th century traditional Windsor chairs, candle boxes, spoon racks and other traditional colonial items. Jewelry and fused art glass.  Chair making demonstrations throughout the weekend. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
